Meet Your Coaches

Jordan is a Strength and Conditioning Coach (NSCA) and Certified Athletic Trainer. Jordan obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree from Slippery Rock University and a Masters Degree from Indiana University.

Jordan moved to Richmond summer of 2013 and began his personal training career at a local commercial gym January of 2014. After an 8 year stint, Jordan left to start his own personal training business: GVA Strength. Shortly after that Jordan started Joint Effort Strength with his now coworker- Randy Kendall.

Jordan primarily works with adult clients who want to focus on strength training as a primary vehicle to improve their overall health. Jordan’s unique background, education, and history of training makes him an excellent trainer for someone who has a current or previous injury.

Outside of the gym, Jordan loves spending time with his wife and their three dogs. In fact, one of their dogs commonly comes to the gym to “help” his clients get the most out of each session! Coach Murph is super friendly and loves saying “Hi!” to everyone.

Randy is a (NSCA) Strength and Conditioning Coach and Certified Personal Trainer with 32 years of experience. Randy is also a graduate from University of Richmond with a Bachelor of Science Degree. 

Randy was born in Richmond Virginia an attended John Marshall High School. Randy started his personal training career in Richmond a local commercial gym in 1992. Randy has owned multiple personal training businesses before partnering with Jordan Frank and starting Joint Effort Strength in 2022.

Randy works with adults and children of all ages that have the specific goals of strength and overall fitness. As a DV8 Kettlebell & Indian Club Specialist and former Strong First Kettlebell instructor, Randy has a fine tuned knowledge of how to use the kettlebell as a tool for improved strength, performance and general conditioning.

Jordan and Randy have planted a friendly, accommodating, and non-apprehensive work out environment here in the very accessible Manakin Sabot area. A much more personal experience than the typical corporate gyms.

They do not push you past your limits, focus on proper form, they provide feedback when it’s necessary, and have developed a daily workout regimen that ANYONE can jump into and change their life with. It allows autonomy and a comfortable routine to be built with relative ease. They provide the how, you provide yourself.

With that mindset at the forefront of their practices, the fellow gym goers are a beautiful blend of people that are united around one common goal. To be more healthy!
